Russian street cat
At this time of year it's good to spare a thought for those (be they human or animal), who are stuck out on the street in this cold damp weather (we're talking 'up north' in December now don't forget).
Whilst we all go back to our warm houses they endure day after day of hardship. So (Norman says) do drop em a coin or two... he was a stray once too.

This cat with the wad of roubles was spotted in one of the cities of Belarus and had been donated notes and coins by passers by. He stays in this one spot all day and in front of him is a note that reads...
"need money for meat and fish, bless you".
He doesn’t budge and seems to protect the money by just vigilantly watching it.
His owner, an elderly lady was seen nearby and kindly posed for the camera. She tells the story that she had rescued the cat from the slaughter house, but as she already owns some other pets she was hard pressed to feed them all, so decided to let the pets earn the money (for their food) for themselves.

This article appeared on the web site http://englishrussia.com/ which is a mixed bag of quirky articles and pictures on Russia, many from an age gone by.
So it looks like moggy got fed that night. I do hope so.
